The George Stout Memorial Fund

The George Stout Memorial Collection of Conservation Literature was established by BAACG in memory of BAACG co-founder (and one of the first members of the MFAA, the famed Monuments Men of WWII) George Stout. The collection was given to JFK University in June 1988.  The original collection numbers over 200 items.   It brings together books, many of which are now out of print, with subject matter covering foreign-language publications, historical treatment manuals, conference proceedings, studio manuals and science texts.  The Collection is currently housed in the University's Robert M. Fisher Library at the Orinda campus. BAACG continues to foster growth of this unique resource.

The Stephen Shapiro Memorial Fund

The Stephen Shapiro Memorial Fund was established in 1984 in memory of Stephen Daedalus Shapiro, founder of Daedalus, one of the first private paper conservation labs in Northern California. He served as an officer of the Guild for many years, and was President of the Guild 1981 and 1982.

The Fund supports Bay Area conservators in continuing education and training.
